Boomtown: Spokane City Council approves growth map to guide future development plans

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane City leaders estimate 20,000 people are expected to make the Lilac City home between now and 2046. On Monday night, the city council approved a major step in shaping how the city could grow over time.

With a 6-1 vote, the Spokane City Council adopted a resolution approving the “Preferred Alternative Growth Map” as part of the city’s Plan Spokane 2046 update.
