Chattanooga to donate former Airport Inn for new homeless family shelter serving 120-plus

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The former Airport Inn property in Chattanooga is set to become a new shelter aimed at keeping homeless families together while connecting them to childcare and other support services.

The City of Chattanooga is moving forward with plans to donate the former Airport Inn to The Grateful Gobbler.

Once renovated, the site will become Provident Place, a secure and professionally operated shelter designed to help families with children move from crisis to stability.

The project is expected to serve more than 120 parents, caregivers, pregnant women, infants and children, providing a place for families to stay together along with access to childcare and coordinated support services…
