Guilford County commissioner explains potential impact of property tax revaluation moratorium bill

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A bill moving through the North Carolina General Assembly could impact Guilford County’s budget planning and potentially delay property tax reappraisals in nine counties across the state, including Guilford County.

Senate Bill 889 is moving to the NC House of Representatives and would place a one-year moratorium on 2026 property tax revaluations in those counties.
