CLINTON, Tenn. (WATE) — When someone had a medical emergency at the Weigel’s in Clinton, it wasn’t a police officer or paramedic who first gave lifesaving aid but instead a private citizen with “selfless urgency,” the Clinton Police Department said.
On April 8, Weigel’s employee Darious Dunson found someone in “severe medical distress” and immediately called 911. Then, instead of just waiting for help to arrive, he began performing CPR following instructions from Anderson County Dispatch.

When Clinton Police Officer Jessica Daugherty arrived at the scene, the lifesaving process was already underway. She administered Narcan and helped resuscitate the victim who responded to treatment and became fully responsive, police said.
The Clinton Police Department posted Tuesday morning honoring Dunson and Daugherty.
