PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than a decade after a federal bribery investigation forced him from office, former Central Falls Mayor Charles Moreau appears to be attempting a political comeback — against the man who replaced him.
Moreau has pulled papers to challenge R.I. General Treasurer James Diossa in the Democratic primary. Both men previously served as mayor of Central Falls, with Diossa succeeding Moreau following the latter’s resignation in 2012 amid a corruption scandal. Diossa had previously served on the City Council.
