DES MOINES, Iowa – Widespread storms moved through central Iowa over the weekend, leaving behind fallen trees, scattered debris, and possible lightning-related fires.
Officials said a home in a rural area near Boone was struck by lightning, causing a fire in the attic. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported.
