Sprinklers run outside recommended hours at Salt Lake County-owned property

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — As Salt Lake County urges residents to cut back on outdoor watering during the extreme drought, a patch of county-owned property in downtown Salt Lake City appeared to violate many of the same restrictions officials are asking the public to follow.

Video recorded over several weeks by a KUTV producer showed sprinklers watering outside recommended hours, irrigation running more than once a week and water pooling on sidewalks and pavement outside the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office.
