Repeat offender arrested after smashing planters in North Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — Deputies with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) arrested a 41-year-old man after callers said he was yelling, knocking over planters and punching car windows at a business on North Division Street, SCSO said in a release.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded around 4:40 p.m. on May 18 to the 12400 block of N. Division Street after several reports of a man under the influence causing a disturbance.

When deputies arrived, they found a man matching the witness description and saw several large concrete-style planters broken and tipped over, with dirt and plants scattered around, SCSO said.

Deputies told the suspect he was being detained and ordered him to put his hands behind his back. According to the sheriff’s office, he threw his cap to the ground, made fists and took a fighting stance…
