Stewart Co. deputies actively enforcing seatbelt violations during May

STEWART COUNTY, Ga. (WRBL) — The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office announced it will be participating in the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety annual “Click it or Ticket” campaign, actively enforcing Georgia’s seatbelt laws.

Stewart County officials say that deputies will be actively watching for seat belt violations and working to keep roadways safe for everyone traveling through Stewart County. The campaign will run through May 31, 2026.

Georgia law requires front seat passengers in all vehicles to wear a seat belt. All children between the ages of 8 and 17 are required to wear a seat belt when riding in the front and back seat, and children 7 and under are required by law to ride in a child safety seat that is recommended by the manufacturer based on the height and weight of the child…
