CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A nine-count indictment was returned by a Charleston federal grand jury charging more than a dozen people with drug offenses, including cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The charges stem from a multi-agency investigation that began in 2017 into street gangs operating in North Charleston, including Gangster Disciples and the Fruit Town Piru, a sect of the Bloods. The investigation uncovered a drug trafficking network that extended from South Carolina and had connections in Georgia and Mexico.
