CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Zoo is mourning the loss of two animals that were born at the zoo and spent their entire lives there: Kgalagadi, known as Gadi, a meerkat, and Avi, a red panda.
Gadi was known for being energetic and curious, often “pop” up to investigate enrichment, keepers and guests during encounters.
“Gadi was the most outgoing and social meerkat of the mob. He had the biggest personality. He always had to know what you were doing,” Keeper Allison said.
