McIntyre declared 2026 SkillsUSA Alabama state champion in firefighting

Smiths Station High School junior Trevor McIntyre has earned the title of 2026 SkillsUSA Alabama state champion in firefighting, a milestone that has solidified his plans for a future in the fire service.

McIntyre, 17, competed April 20-22 against approximately 25 students from across Alabama, all sharing a passion for firefighting and emergency service. The competition tested participants in multiple firefighting-related events designed to measure a range of technical and practical skills.
