3 ways to buy Ottawa County beach permits before enforcement starts Memorial Day weekend

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI — Ottawa County will begin enforcing motor vehicle permits at seven lakeshore locations and one on the Grand River starting Saturday, May 23, 2026, through Labor Day.

The permits are required at North Beach Park, Olive Shores, Kirk Park, Rosy Mound Natural Area, Tunnel Park, Kouw Park, Windsnest Park and the Riverside Park boat launch.

Annual permits cost $25 and daily permits are $8. Ottawa County residents can purchase discounted annual permits online or at an Ottawa County Parks office. Additional discounts are available for resident seniors 60 and older, resident U.S. military members including active-duty service members and veterans, and Port Sheldon Township residents.
