JOHNSTON, Iowa (WHO)- A central Iowa first responder is crediting a training program for helping him save a life. He received that training just one day earlier.
The training program is known as Simulation in Motion Iowa. The trainers travel to different EMS and fire departments as well as hospitals around the state. It’s associated with the University of Iowa’s School of Nursing.
The program uses realistic mannequins that respond to how they’re treated. The mannequins can even blink, breathe, scream, and bleed.
