Oswego 308 cites growing building maintenance issues

The Oswego 308 School District says deferred maintenance of school buildings is continuing to take its toll.

On Monday during storms, standing water rushed into the Oswego High School auto shop while students were in class, creating a safety hazard and disrupting instruction. At Long Beach Elementary, a malfunctioning roof drain caused water to leak directly into classrooms, disrupting learning.

Churchill Elementary and Wolf’s Crossing Elementary both had water leaking from windows and doors. On Tuesday, a backed-up air handler at Boulder Hill Elementary caused a leak that damaged ceilings and carpeted floors…
