Bullets hit cars, elementary students take cover after deadly downtown St. Louis police shooting

ST. LOUIS — New details are emerging after a deadly officer-involved shooting in downtown St. Louis near The Dome at America’s Center left a man dead, damaged multiple parked cars and forced a bus full of elementary students on a field trip to take cover.

The shooting happened late Tuesday morning near Broadway and Washington Avenue in a busy stretch of downtown surrounded by hotels, businesses and heavy foot traffic.
