PADRE ISLAND, Texas — As thousands make plans to head to the beach this Memorial Day weekend, there is concern about the possibility of heavy rain and even potential flooding.
Nueces County Coastal Parks Director Scott Cross said flooding from high tides or storms impacts the beaches.
“There’s really not much we can do. I mean, this is gonna happen all the way through the weekend,” Cross said. “It’s even worse at Padre because there’s so much erosion over there from Hanna early on, and the beach is so much more narrow. It’s all the way up to the dunes over there.”…
