Doctors Hospital of Augusta marked a construction milestone Friday. Workers placed the final beam for two new floors on the burn tower. Hospital leaders signed it. So did doctors, board members, and staff. Then a crane lifted it into place.
The construction is part of a $150 million campaign to expand the medical center. New infrastructure will arrive. Equipment will be upgraded. Capacity will grow, and private patient rooms will be added throughout the building.
