COLUMBIA, S.C. — It’s Memorial Day Weekend, a time to commemorate the sacrifices that men and women have made serving this country in the US Armed Services. There are some free concerts featuring military bands scheduled for Sunday and Monday, and YMCA Columbia’s Race to Remember Saturday morning.
It is also the unofficial start to summer as high school and college graduations are going on this week and next — and public swimming pools are opening ahead of the regular season.
