KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Taiwanese national was arrested at Kansas City International Airport on Thursday after law enforcement agents discovered approximately 26,000 grams of cannabis in his luggage.
Sing Hao-Ping, 26, was formally charged in Platte County with delivery of a controlled substance. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
According to a probable cause statement, airport police and Platte County sheriff’s detectives were alerted to the drugs by a K-9 unit. When Sing claimed the suitcases, officers stopped him and requested to search them. Sing told officers that the luggage belonged to a friend and he was only picking it up.
