An Olathe, Kansas resident is facing felony kidnapping charges and one other felony charge following an arrest in Bethany on Saturday morning. 36-year-old Edgar Y Martinez Ramirez is facing felony charges which include felony child kidnapping, felony 1st Degree child kidnapping, and 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. A social media post on Saturday reported an attempted kidnapping was attempted at a convenience store in Bethany on Saturday. The child involving, according to the post, was not taken during the incident. At this point, the arrest was made for a 24-hour investigative hold of Edgar Martinez. There is no bond at this point.
