RIO RANCHO — “Cheese, please!” might as well have been the phrase of the day on May 14 at Ernest Stapleton Elementary School and Shining Stars Preschool, where both schools celebrated 100% readership among students with a Dion’s pizza party.
The students were awarded a slice of cheese pizza for reading their first six books under Club Read, a program in partnership with Dion’s and the Albuquerque Isotopes.
Though Ernest Stapleton students have met 100% readership before, this month marked the first time Shining Stars participated schoolwide. Both schools also became the only institutions in Rio Rancho Public Schools to reach 100% participation so far…
