The order, which is in effect until further notice, applies to drinking water, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.

Local impact
The boil water order has caused the temporary closure of local restaurants, including Chubby’s Café and Arctic Circle.
“We depend heavily on water here and not having it has required us to be closed,” said Chubby’s Café owner Marcus Moak. “We had to send everyone home last night. We can’t have employees washing hands with the water and can’t wash dishes and the whole food prep depends on water.”
