HONOLULU (Island News) — Organizers of the annual Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaii ceremony have released parking, traffic and participation details ahead of this year’s Memorial Day event at Ala Moana Beach Park.
Thousands are expected to attend the 28th annual ceremony on Memorial Day Monday, May 25, as the event returns to honor loved ones in a sunset floating lantern tribute.
For safety and environmental reasons, attendees are not allowed to bring or float homemade lanterns. Only official lanterns provided by organizers will be permitted in the water…
