Fire Breaks Out Along Santa Clara River Near Valencia Boulevard

A fire broke out Thursday evening in the Santa Clara River wash alongside Valencia Boulevard and Auto Center Court near the Mercedes-Benz of Valencia dealership, prompting a response from multiple firefighting crews, including a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter.

Initial reports of the fire were received at approximately 7:02 p.m. Emergency responders arrived to find what radio traffic described as a 100-foot by 100-foot vegetation fire, estimated at roughly 0.23 acres.

Firefighters requested assistance from Los Angeles Fire Department Helicopter 22, which joined ground crews working to contain and extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
