Duo steals $45K of power tools in south city, charged

ST. LOUIS – Two men have been charged in connection to stealing a variety of power tools worth tens of thousands of dollars in south St. Louis nearly two months ago.

Police received a call from the 2500 block of Texas Ave. on March 25 with a report of a burglary. According to officials, the caller told law enforcement that “multiple” men were masked taking power tools from the back of a business in the 2500 block of Jefferson Ave.

Another witness provided police with cell phone video of the items being stolen and placed into a vehicle. The business owner told police that more than 100 power tools were taken from the building, totaling to a loss over $45,000.
