WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita is making final preparations to open the city’s new transit center, bringing new bus routes with the new location.
Following unanimous approval from the Wichita City Council, the overhaul of the city’s transit system is moving the transit center from downtown Wichita on Topeka Street, where it operated for more than three decades, to the new multimodal transportation hub in Delano.
“We needed to find a new location that was a little bit more accessible to the community,” said Wichita Transit Director Penny Feist. “This location has served us really well for 35 years, but the new location also has parking, so people can park and ride transit downtown.”…
