MAKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) — Honolulu firefighters extinguished a shipping container fire on S. Beretania Street on Thursday evening.
The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call about a building fire at 1436 S. Beretania St in Makiki at 6:54 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026. When firefighters arrived at the scene of the single-alarm fire a few minutes later, they found a shipping container on fire.
