City Manager Douglas Hewett presented a $322,813,979 budget for Fiscal Year 2027 to the Fayetteville City Council on May 14. The proposal includes a property tax rate of $0.4595 per $100 of assessed value, which is a one-cent jump from what residents pay now.
Public safety operations would get $120 million. Police would receive $76 million, which means $2.54 million more than this year. Fire services would reach $42 million, climbing by $2.1 million. The Office of Community Safety faces a $287,000 cut, bringing its total to $2.18 million.
