Waterfowl in the north Alabama area will soon a space of their own.
The Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge in Decatur is creating a waterfowl sanctuary during the winter migration. The new 335-acre waterfowl sanctuary is designed to provide a peaceful and protected space for thousands of wintering geese, ducks, cranes, and other birds.
