Wrong-way driver killed in head-on crash with semi truck carrying corn in Belle Glade

BELLE GLADE, Fla. (CBS12) — An unidentified wrong-way driver was violently killed after slamming head-on into a semi carrying corn in Belle Glade, Thursday morning.

Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office say at 6:19 a.m., a Nissan Altima was traveling south in the 900 block of Duda Road in Belle Glade, going the wrong way in the northbound lane of travel.

At the same time, deputies say a semi truck carrying corn was traveling northbound and impacted the sedan head-on, with the car’s hood and roof peeling off as it lodged beneath the semi.

According to the crash report, the driver was struck by the semi’s bumper, and corn shifted and fell off the truck…
