ANKENY, Iowa — A second woman has been charged with harboring a runaway in connection with a missing Ankeny teen.
Earlier this year, a 15-year-old boy was reported missing to the Ankeny Police Department. Court records show that Snapchat location data and interviews led officers to an Ankeny apartment, where they found the teen about a month after he was reported missing.
The apartment was the home of 25-year-old Gracie McKinney, and according to a criminal complaint, the teen had stayed there the entire time he was missing. McKinney is accused of having an illegal sexual relationship with the teen. A complaint also states that McKinney told officers she didn’t know the victim was a teenager when the sexual acts occurred, but admitted to allowing the teen to continue staying with her after she learned his age.
Court records claim that McKinney and the victim had been neighbors about seven years ago.
