Police capture suspect in Colorado Springs retail theft spree

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Friday, May 22, detectives conducted an operation to locate an alleged prolific retail theft offender accused of over 34 theft incidents.

On Friday, just before 8 a.m. Metro RPM Detectives searched the area of Pikes Peak and North Academy Boulevards to find who detectives believe is the suspect of over 34 thefts from retailers spanning two months.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jesus Lizarraga-Venegas, was found sleeping in a vehicle on Delaware Drive. Detectives contacted officers to assist and conducted a non-contact block of the car…
