The votes are in, many of the ballots are counted and the timbre of the Yamhill County Board of Commissioners is all but set for the next four years.
The battle for Position 1 on the commission proved little more than a skirmish as incumbent Kit Johnston outdistanced challenger John Linder by nearly 13% of the 33,663 votes cast May 19. Revised results released two days later showed Johnston with a 56.3% lead over Linder’s 43.4%.
