Staten Islanders have made 7K+ parking complaints since January. And we’re looking for more.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If a double-parked vehicle, blocked hydrant or illegally parked commercial truck got your blood boiling this year, you’re not alone: More than 7,000 Staten Islanders have reported bad parking behavior to 311 since Jan. 1, requesting resolution for obstructed driveways, “no standing” violations and a bevy of other unneighborly abuses.

The complaints, accessible via NYC’s Open Data page, show more than 1,000 parking calls coming in per month at addresses and in zip codes throughout the borough. An analysis of the data shows that parking accounted for 10% of Staten Island’s 311 calls this year.
