Jefferson Man Resentenced to Prison for Assault Near Milo

After a decision by the Iowa Court of Appeals, a Jefferson, Iowa, man has been resentenced to prison on charges connected to a 2024 assault in Milo that left another man seriously injured.

According to court records, 19-year-old Camden Joseph Strennen was resentenced on Monday, May 18th, in Warren County District Court for charges of Willful Injury-Causing Bodily Injury, a Class D felony, and Assault-Mental Illness, a serious misdemeanor. The resentencing comes after an attempt to appeal the original sentence. The Iowa Court of Appeals granted that Strennen be resentenced before a different judge. That judge ultimately gave Strennen a similar sentence.

The charges stem from a September 15, 2024, incident near Milo. Court documents state Strennen and another individual allegedly assaulted a victim by punching and kicking him following an altercation.
