Spokane faces potential loss of millions in federal community development funding

SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane could lose millions of dollars in federal funding that has helped fund community projects for years, from new playgrounds to helping seniors afford to stay in their homes.

President Trump’s proposed 2027 budget eliminates the Community Development Block Grant, a program that provides over $3 billion to cities across the country. Spokane has received over $7.5 million from the program in the past two years.
