Rockets’ Keely wins 1A high jump title again

Paton-Churdan junior Trevon Keely won the Class 1A boys high jump Friday at the Coed State Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Keely cleared the bar at six feet, six inches, and he claimed his second straight title in the event. He placed second in 2024 as a freshman. Keely is the rare two-time State Champion for the Rockets and he will be in both the 100 and 200 meter finals this afternoon.

Greene County had five events compete in 2A on Friday with twelfth the highest placing. The distance medley quartet of senior Addison Gannon, sophomore Hanna Fouch, senior Becca Anderson, and senior Kaycee Pittman was clocked in 4:17.44. Those same four ran the 4 x 400 meter preliminary in 4:14.97 and placed twenty-second. Senior Rafe Michaelsen threw the discus 135 feet and he finished twenty-third. The Rams were twenty-first in the 4 x 100 meter relay prelims in :44.22, and twenty-fourth in the prelim of the 4 x 400 relay. Juniors Jaron Jacobs and Lincoln Schwander, and senior Aden Bardole ran in both relays. Junior Zack Stalder ran in the 4 x 100 and senior Drew Wolterman was in the 4 x 400.

Wolterman and Pittman run this morning in their respective 800 meter races for the Rams. Keely will be in the finals of the 100 and 200 in 1A…
