CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Star Gospel Mission is hosting its third annual “A Walk in Their Shoes” event on Sunday to raise community homelessness awareness and program support for people living in vulnerable conditions.
The “A Walk In Their Shoes Event” welcomes the community to walk with people facing homelessness. The fundraiser informs participants about homelessness and addiction while raising funds to support men, women, and children as they seek to transform their lives.
Attendees can register for one of three walking experiences: the Sunrise Experience (1.5 miles), Holy City Experience (5 miles), or Sleepless Nights (15-mile overnight experience).
- Sunrise Experience (1.5 miles): Check-in begins at 6:00 am and the walk will start at 6:30 a.m. Family-friendly with prayer stops and ends with chapel and continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m.
- Holy City Experience (5 miles): Check-in begins at 5:00 a.m and the walk will start at 5:30 a.m. Full peninsula walk with chapel and continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m.
- Sleepless Nights (15 miles): Check-in begins at 10:30 pm and the walk will start at 11:00 p.m. Saturday. Adults only. Includes prayer stops, reflection time, and concludes with chapel and continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m.
