Ray: Let Arizona voters decide how to protect women’s sports

I grew up in Chandler, where volleyball became part of who I am. I started playing when I was 8. For years, I practiced, trained, traveled, sacrificed weekends, missed other activities and poured myself into a sport I loved.

That work eventually gave me the honor of playing Division I volleyball at Utah State University, where I served as a team captain. Like so many girls who grow up in sports, I learned discipline, toughness, teamwork, leadership and accountability. Volleyball gave me a sisterhood and opportunities that changed my life.
