An Iowa high school student is being dubbed a hero after helping to save a woman from a house fire.
Marek Dessimoz and his family were playing golf at Hyperion Field Club in Johnston to celebrate Mother’s Day when they spotted smoke coming from a nearby house on Sunday, May 10, according to local outletsDes Moines Register and KCRG.
Dessimoz, a 17-year-old junior at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, jumped the 6 foot fence between him and the house as his mom, Agnieszka Pieta, called for help and his father, Douglas Kaye, called 911, per the outlets.
“I gotta go help out,” Dessimoz recalled of his instinctive action to the Des Moines Register.…
