Old Neon Sign From Loveland Now in Windsor Brewery

As technology advances, a lot of things in Colorado keep going away; one of those things, is what Downtown Loveland had: a place get a variety of newspaper and a cup of coffee.

City Newsstand & Coffee House used to be at the corner of 6th and Cleveland in Downtown Loveland, for what seems forever; they had all sorts of magazines, books, and newspapers. That was before the luxury apartments went up across the street; I can see tenants coming in and really enjoying the spot.

You could stop in, grab a book or mag to breeze through, and then sit and enjoy some coffee. I had been in the place several times, and enjoyed every visit. Since closing in 2013, the space has seen a few things move in, but City Newsstand is what’s lasted the longest in the last 30 years.

City Newsstand had two great neon signs (one faced 6th, one faced Cleveland;) I always found them to be so unique, like something out of a comic book. It turns out one of the Mash Lab-associated business ‘Pinkee’s‘ customers had the two signs; Mash Lab decided to purchase one of them for their taproom…
