Training, fitness, and good equipment are all key to finishing a marathon, according to Fort Lupton resident Juan Arellano.
But nothing helps like community, and he should know: The avid runner just completed his ninth marathon, finishing the 26.2-mile Tokyo Marathon on March 1 in just three hours and 30 minutes.
“The Tokyo Marathon was my first race overseas,” Arellano said. “I got lucky because it’s a tough marathon to enter, and you can only enter through a lottery if you’re not an elite runner. Since it’s one of the major marathons, it’s highly sought after by runners worldwide.”…
