Longmont girls soccer making history and more from Boulder-area sports

The only thing slowing down Longmont’s win streak in girls soccer was a snowstorm.

With flurries postponing Friday’s road game at Frederick, CHSAA’s Class 3A team will have to wait until next week for a chance to move to 13-0, and potentially move closer to the top spot in the classification, which is currently occupied by Kent Denver.

The Trojans (12-0, 6-0 Patriot League) matched their most wins in a season with shutouts over Frontier Academy and Weld Central in league play earlier in the week. The last time they won 12 games in a season was back in 2010 — also the last time they won a postseason game…
