The St. Vrain and Left Hand Water Conservancy District has reached an agreement with the environmental group Save the World’s Rivers that removes construction of a large on-river dam from the future of the district’s Coffintop Reservoir water rights.
The agreement, announced Monday, was reached through the water court process. Under the deal, the district agreed not to use the Coffintop water rights for any new on-river reservoir, including Coffintop Reservoir, or for expansion of an existing on-river reservoir.
