Loveland Eviction Standoff Ends With K9 Taking Down Barricaded Tenant

A routine court-ordered eviction in Loveland turned into a tense afternoon standoff on Friday when a tenant barricaded himself inside his apartment, triggering a shelter-in-place alert for nearby residents while negotiators and tactical teams surrounded the building.

Deputies later said the man was ultimately found and taken into custody after a K9 team searched the residence and located him. According to the Larimer County Sheriff, the case now straddles both the civil eviction process and criminal allegations tied to what unfolded during the standoff.

In a detailed Larimer County Sheriff’s Office update, officials said civil process deputies were serving a court order when the tenant locked the doors, refused to come out, and made threatening statements.
