On the way to the Berthoud Bike Park one Saturday, a dozen vehicles, many able to unload several bicyclists, child and adult, in its parking lot. One has a trailer hitched to it.
Down a dirt path and inside, in the distance, are routes for experienced bicyclists. In an area for earlier riders, a couple of dozen kids on bikes tool around the tracks. Parents ride alongside or follow on foot for the park’s most earnest efforts: toddlers not 3 years old, surveying skeptically and battling a rising and falling road.
