New Owners For Fort Collins’ Surfside 7

One of Fort Collins’ best-loved bars for live music and late night slices of pizza has become a Colorado legend since its first opening in 1999. 2026 saw the bar get it’s third owner, begging the question: What’s next?

Surfside 7 in Old Town Fort Collins Gets New Ownership

When you consider that that Surfside 7 got its name from a 60s TV show (Surfside 6) that only lasted two seasons, being around for over 25 years is quite a feat. The bar first opened on North College in 1999; that location last until four years into the second owner of the bar’s tenure, when the bar had to find a new location.

Surfside 7 Has Had 2 Owners and 2 Locations Over 25+ Years

In 2015. five years after Kim Snodgrass took over ownership of Surfside 7, the bar reopened after an eight-month closure after having to leave 150 North College. The new location of the bar would be in Old Town at 238 Linden. With all the activity that Old Town sees, it’s been a great location for live music and late night slices.

We had a boss here at the radio station who was a huge pizza fan; a couple of the young staffers told him had to get a New York-style slice at Surfside 7. He took the whole crew down there for a slice and a beer; a couple of us had corndogs. The joint has had a fun laid-back vibe, whether on College or on Linden.

With any change, there’s going to be ups and downs. Soon after the new owners came in, in early May of 2026, more than a few folks were “up in arms” about how the new ownership was already taking away the “punk vibe” of Surfside 7, and turning into more of a restaurant than the bar that it was…
