The Estes Valley Fire Protection District is enacting a fire ban, effective at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 8.
Interim Fire Chief Warren Jones announced the ban in a release on Thursday, saying that restrictions mirror the ban adopted by the Larimer County commissioners on Tuesday, May 5. The risk of wildfire in the Estes Valley is heightened by recent high temperatures, wind, and lack of moisture, despite the recent snowstorm.
