PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — As we look back at some of the CBS12 News Athletes of the Week from the past school year, two standout Palm Beach County running backs are preparing for the next chapter after helping lead their teams to state championships. At West Boca Raton, Javian Mallory finished his high school career in style.
The University of Miami commit rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns in the Class 6A state championship game, earning MVP honors and helping the Bulls capture their second straight state title. The performance was especially meaningful for Mallory, who missed last year’s championship game while recovering from injuries suffered in a car accident.
He leaves West Boca with more than 5,400 career rushing yards and 69 total touchdowns before heading to Coral Gables this fall…
